Stonewall K9 FAQ

The cost of the puppies is based on several factors: Genetics (Heritage), parents titles and rankings, health screenings, and introductory socialization / training that has been done. Most of our Puppies range from $2500 – $3500. Pick of the litter sometimes costs extra. Deposits are required to reserve a puppy. Deposits are $500 and are Non-Refundable, but can easily be transferred to a different puppy or future litter.

All of the parents of our puppies have at least their Hip and Elbow screenings done to ensure we are passing along healthy genetics. These certifications are done by the OFA and/or the A-Stamp Program to be certified clear of Hip and Elbow Dysplasia. In most scenarios, we can show that the Hip and Elbow certification has been done for several generations back. Our goal is to make sure that we are breeding dogs with healthy genetics and stable mentalities.

Yes, we have a contract that shows that the dog/puppy is healthy at the time of the sale and we offer a 12 month guarantee against certain genetic conditions.

All of our dogs live in a household environment, not a boarding kennel. This means that our dogs need to be great companion dogs for active families. All of our dogs are trained in basic obedience in order to ensure that they are stable and easy to live with. Some of our dogs have gone on for additional sport training as well. We compete in dog sports for fun. This is an enjoyable outlet for the trainer, handler and most of all the dog.

Our goal is to build stable dogs, not just to rack up trophies on a wall. If we happen to win trophies in the process towards our goals, then it makes it that much sweeter. Sports and Sport training is a wonderful tool to show exactly what a dog is capable of in performance and up against the breed standard. That is why titles (show or working) are important. They can be used as a standardized metric to rate and compare dogs against a clear breed standard.

Our dogs and puppies are raised on our family farm in South Eastern PA. They have large areas to run and are exposed to kids and other pets on a daily basis. We work each of our dogs several times a week on focused, relevant obedience work. This keeps them sharp and gives them mental stimulation. If we have a dog that needs additional focused time for training or companionship, we sometimes place them with another Guardian Family so they can live in an even more focused environment.

We vaccinate our puppies between 6-8 weeks for Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus Type 2 (CAV-2), Canine Coronavirus, Canine Parainfluenza and Canine Parvovirus Type 2b.

Any older puppies and other dogs follow the recommended vaccination schedule from out vet.

We always recommend that you take your new puppy to the vet within the first 48hrs to make sure that you are satisfied with health and quality of the new puppy.

We do have a waiting list. When a litter becomes available, we allow the people on the waiting list the right to choose one of the available puppies. Deposits on a puppy, or a Reser- vation on the waiting list cost $500. This is a Non-Refundable deposit, but can easily be transferred to a different puppy or future litter if you so choose.
